In May 2000:
The Harp Consortium evolved from Hospice of the Valley’s Integrative Therapeutics Department led by Joyce Buekers. The Harp Foundation became a separate corporation to extend its reach and services the following year
From the Start,
The Harp Foundation was uniquely positioned as a collaborative initiative between healthcare facilities and therapeutic harpists. Its mission was expanded to serve developmentally and physically disabled children, oncology patients, under-served populations, and other individuals with special needs.
In 2015,
The Harp Foundation became Therapeutic Harp Foundation (THF).
Impact:
Since 2000, THF has provided live harp music to over 200,000 patients, caregivers, and medical staff in 30 healthcare facilities throughout the Valley.
We remain the only therapeutic harp program in Arizona.
